Saddle Up For Strays

In our unwavering commitment to improve the quality of life for dogs in our community, Texas Round Up Animal Alliance (TRUAA) will be hosting Saddle up for Strays, our largest event and fundraiser of the year on November 16, 2024 at the River Star Arts & Event Park in Kerrville, TX.  The proceeds from this event will be used to support the ongoing lifesaving mission of rescuing, rehabilitating and adopting dogs that might otherwise be euthanized.

Texas Round Up Animal Alliance (TRUAA), located in the Texas Hill Country of Center Point, is a no-kill dog shelter with the sole purpose of rescuing dogs that are at high risk of euthanasia primarily in Kerr County. We are a 501c(3) organization funded entirely by individual donations, grants and fundraisers.

Our mission is to save dogs from euthanasia, heal them with love and medical care, provide them with tools to be their best selves and adopt them to the best family that meets their needs. Our County shelters are at capacity and are faced with unfortunate decisions to reduce the number of animals in their care. TRUAA is dedicated to ending the euthanasia of healthy and adoptable homeless dogs and helping to find their fur-ever homes. We are a temporary home to 20-25 dogs at a time and since our inception in 2018, we have saved over 400 dogs in Kerr County.

The dogs that come into our care get fully evaluated and cared for, including spay or neuter surgery, microchipping, age-appropriate vaccinations, heartworm test/treatment if needed and are taught basic manners and provided with enrichment and behavioral training. All of this one-on-one attention is to help ensure there is a good fit between the personality and needs of the dog with that of the potential adopters.

As the demand for our services continues to grow, we rely greatly on the patronage of individuals and businesses to help us meet the challenge of saving the lives of more dogs in our community.

Family and Dog Friendly. All pets must be on a leash and up to date on vaccines, No retractable leashes.
